Thank you for applying to the Fatemarked Facility on behalf of your chosen character. Please answer the following questions, which will allow us to determine whether they are suitable candidates. Be honest and thorough.
1. Character name: O'danya Mitnu
2. Canon/series: Final Fantasy XIV. HERE WE G— wait hold on here's some real shit and part two. And then the expansion came out and the same brave soul also summed that up. If you could call gigantic mountains of text as SUMMED UP.
Summation at the highest order is that she started off as a lone sellsword (with friend!) and climbed the ranks all the way up to war-stopper, god-killer and friend of the dragonfather through various and sundry adventures all through Eorzea, meeting plenty of NPCs and learning lots of classes. For RP purposes, O'danya in particular is what's called a Legacy character, someone who went through the events of FFXIV 1.0 and was flung five years into the future (for A Realm Reborn/2.0) once one of the moons exploded into a hella mad dragon god in an event known as the Calamity. General consensus is that any Legacy characters have clouded memories of things before reconstituting due to time fuckery and O'danya is little different from that.
3. Age: ~28.
4. Species: Miqo'te. Animalisticcatperson human.
5. Role: Sentinel.
6. Why do you think your character is a good candidate for the Fatemarked setting?
Being one who has slain gods and stopped wars, Danya is no stranger to strife or protecting innocents. Having a single person she's bound to, however, not necessarily of her own choosing, will be a treat. Having her adapt to a less magical, more technological world will also be fun and interesting. Not to mention the fact that there's probably gonna be conspiracy plots will make her GROAN. NOT HER DEPARTMENT, GUYS.
7a. What skills does your character have which might make them a good Sentinel?
O'danya is, due to a mile-wide perfectionist streak, basically a living weapon by this point. She's essentially the savior of the continent due to martial skill, status as a chosen of Hydaelyn (spirit of the planet) and just being an all around COOL CHICK. More specifically:
• max level Bard (damage class, archer), uses bows + harps
• max level Scholar (healing class, pet-user), uses grimoires
• max level Dark Knight ("glass cannon" tanking class), uses two-handed broadswords
• mixed mastery of other classes
• various crafting arts also learned, requires appropriate materials make things obviously THIS IS GOOD FOR SURVIVAL THINGS idk
• she has an ability called the Echo that lets her understand all communication and also sometimes look into peoples' pasts (she can't control this, it's just plot device for writers and muns, etc.)
7b. What traits, abilities, or qualities does your character have which might be the reason they are Fatemarked?
8. How do you think your character will react to their new role in life?
To be honest, it won't be much different from her own life. Same tasks, different master. Although her allegiances still lie with Eorzea, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, and to her close friends, she isn't one to turn down a call for help. Unable to return home, she'll settle in and take on this new role as easily as any other. Maybe feel a bit out of place at not being THE Chosen for once, but she can deal.
9. What are some of your character's strengths?
She's incredibly strong-willed, not just because of the Echo giving her an edge. Confident and with prodigal amounts of talent, her learned intelligence is earned rather than happened upon. She judges everyone by merit of their life and actions rather than other peoples' opinions. Surprisingly not a braggart for all of her accomplishments and skill. Her big sisterly/mothering nature is generally a positive when dealing with her friends. So much magic, you don't even understand, she is FULL OF MAGIC AND DESTINY AND SHIT.
10. What are some of your character's weaknesses?
O'danya cannot say no to someone asking for help unless they're like, actually a villain, and overburdens herself frequently. Doesn't admit to personal weakness or ask for help when regarding herself; this was to the point that her own Esteem, awoken by the power of the Dark Knight soul crystal, manifested and tried to overtake her entirely in order to become something other than a doormat. Her booksmarts are limited to war tactics, arcanima and geometry due to only having recently taken an interest in reading. Has a very short temper once set off. Will actually let you die in a dungeon if you DON'T STOP SUPER-PULLING, I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD TANKS
11. Does your character have any health problems we should know about?
She's far-sighted and wears corrective lenses constantly for this reason. Good for a marksman, terrible for booklearning. Otherwise she has no immediate detriment to her health; she's made of hardy stuff and see above about not admitting weakness. Negative emotional reactions are either used to fuel a fight or buried away entirely so triggers that might immobilize her are hard to come by.
12. Describe a single important event in your character's history.
Haurchefant's death is very important to O'danya. Although she's seen many deaths in her life and especially for the sake of continuing her legend as the Warrior or Light, Haurchefant was a dear friend and staunch believer in O'danya's role not just as a powerful ally in a time of strife, but as a hero.
For all the power that O'danya has, she can't save everyone. That's impossible. She knows that, from holding the hand of her dear friend as he died, and watching the perpetrators escape. However, the event has done only one thing: strengthen her resolve to save everyone who relies on her, who would lend her their strength and make sure that no one else has to suffer the fate of losing their own Haurchefant. She will persevere. She will continue to fight. She will not let his passing be in vain, no matter what.
13. Who is your character's next-of-kin?
Probably Alichi'ra, if that concept existed in Eorzea.
14. Tell us about the most important relationship your character has.
Alichi'ra Drakkha. So closely are the two fates intertwined that one might almost posit them to be soulmates. Regardless of that fact, they share symmetry between the facets of their Echo and are constantly by each others' sides, a literal night and day due to their diurnal and nocturnal natures. Although not inseparable and do often pursue their own interests alone, they are indomitable when together and hardly spoken of if not in the same breath. They are the Warriors of Light and Eternally Bonded. The ring O'danya constantly wears is attribution to that fact.
Whereas O'danya cannot admit weakness in herself, she does lean on Alichi'ra for as much as necessary to continue forward. Lichi is her rock and she is a better person to have him around, his cool center to her hot and burning passion. Also they're great fun when together.
15. What else should we know about your character that might recommend them to the position?
She is dedicated as fuck. Even if not doing anything of terrible import, her heart is in the right place and she always goes for the goal. Her enthusiasm may leave something to be desired but the job gets done. Eventually.
16. What is your character's Fatemark?
N/A but I'm going to mention that she has this mark just below where her matching Sentinel mark would appear. It's a Legacy thing. This is purely an IC-thing and not something I can show off on my real life in game model.
17. Please provide two writing samples showing us your ability to roleplay.
